Sindbis Virus

The Sindbis virus is a type of virus known as an arbovirus, which is transmitted by mosquitoes. It is found mainly in tropical and subtropical regions, where it can cause a form of viral infection called Sindbis fever. Symptoms of this fever include a high fever, headache, nausea, muscle pain, and a skin rash. In some cases, the virus can cause more severe symptoms including encephalitis and meningoencephalitis. The virus can also be spread by direct contact with the infected person's body fluids or through infected birds or insects.
