Call For Papers
Advancing enzyme science through rigorous research and open collaboration.
Submit Your Enzyme Research
The Journal of Enzymes is a distinguished Open Access and Peer-Reviewed publication dedicated to advancing enzymology and biochemistry. We publish rigorous studies that explain enzyme structure, function, regulation, and application across medicine, biotechnology, agriculture, and environmental systems.
Our readership includes researchers, clinicians, industrial scientists, and educators who rely on actionable enzyme science and reproducible methods.
We seek manuscripts that illuminate enzyme mechanisms, quantify catalytic performance, and translate enzymatic insights into real-world impact. Submissions should present clear hypotheses, robust experimental or computational methods, and practical relevance for enzymology or enzyme-enabled applications. Studies that compare enzyme variants, validate assays, or benchmark models against reference standards are welcome. Interdisciplinary work connecting chemistry, molecular biology, systems biology, and clinical translation is strongly encouraged.
Clinical/Medical Enzymology
We invite clinical studies that clarify enzyme biomarkers, diagnostic workflows, and enzyme-based interventions in human disease. Manuscripts may address enzyme deficiencies, enzyme replacement therapy, enzymatic drug metabolism, or the role of enzymes in inflammation, oncology, metabolic disorders, and rare genetic conditions.
Systems-Level Enzymology
We welcome research that maps enzyme networks, pathway dynamics, and multi-enzyme regulation at cellular or organismal scale. Topics include pathway rewiring, metabolic control analysis, enzyme co-factor balance, and systems biology approaches that link enzyme function to phenotype.
Therapeutic Enzyme Modalities
Submissions exploring therapeutic enzymes are encouraged, including enzyme replacement, enzyme prodrug activation, enzyme-based biologics, and enzyme mediated detoxification. We also welcome innovations in delivery systems, stability engineering, and clinical pharmacology.
