Indexing and discoverability
How a JTRR article is identified, distributed, found and kept. Each service below does a different job, and they are listed separately so that what is in place is clear without one standing in for another.

Identifiers
- Journal identifier
- The journal is registered under ISSN 2640-6403 in the international ISSN Register, which is how a library system or a citation resolves this title rather than a similarly named one.
- Article identifiers
- Every article receives a Crossref DOI under the prefix 10.14302. The DOI is the permanent address of the article and continues to resolve if the site's own URLs change.
- Author identifiers
- ORCID iDs are recorded and displayed for authors and editors who supply them, which separates researchers who share a name.
Distribution and discovery
Registering a DOI also distributes the article's metadata, which is how most discovery systems find it.
- Crossref metadata distribution
- Deposited article metadata — title, authors, affiliations, abstract, references and license — is available to any service that draws on Crossref, which is a large part of how scholarly search works.
- Metadata harvesting
- The publisher operates an OAI-PMH endpoint at openaccesspub.org/oai, so repositories and aggregators can harvest records directly.
- Scholarly graphs
- The journal has a record in OpenAlex, the open scholarly index, at openalex.org/S4210214700, where its articles and their citation links can be examined.
- Search-engine metadata
- Each article page publishes Google Scholar citation metadata — title, authors, journal, volume, issue, pages, date, DOI, ISSN and a direct PDF link — which is the form academic search engines read.
Selective journal-level indexing
Selective databases assess a journal and then decide whether to cover it. That is a different thing from a DOI, an ISSN or a discovery service, none of which involves an assessment.
As checked on 14 September 2026, JTRR's verified coverage consists of the identifiers, distribution and discovery services listed above. Any selective database listing will be recorded here, with the date it was confirmed, once one is in place.
Deposit in PubMed Central
Eligible NIH-funded manuscripts may be deposited individually in PubMed Central through the NIH Manuscript Submission System (NIHMS).
This is a route for an individual manuscript, undertaken by the author to meet a funder mandate. It is a per-article deposit and is separate from journal-level coverage in PubMed, MEDLINE or PubMed Central. The NIHMS overview explains how the deposit works.
Digital preservation
This journal's content is committed to Portico, a not-for-profit digital-preservation archive run by ITHAKA (the organization behind JSTOR). As articles are deposited they enter Portico's permanent archive, so the scholarly record stays available for the long term — even if a title one day ceases to publish.
Making your article easier to find
Most of what determines whether a paper is found is set at submission: a title that names what was studied, an abstract that states the question and the method, keywords a specialist would actually search, complete and correctly formatted references, and an ORCID iD on every author. The instructions for authors cover each of these.
Because articles are published open access under CC BY 4.0, they can also be deposited in an institutional or subject repository without further permission, which adds another route to the same work.
