Calcitonin Gene-Related Peptide

Calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) is a small protein that plays an important role in physiology and pathology. It is involved in a wide range of physiological functions, such as regulation of blood pressure, pain transmission, and migraine pathways. CGRP also plays a role in migraine and other headache disorders, and it has been associated with cardiovascular diseases and a number of autoimmune disorders. In therapeutic management of these diseases, CGRP inhibitors have been identified as promising treatments.
