Primary Headache

. Primary Headache, otherwise known as Primary Headache Disorders (PHDs), is a family of neurological disorders characterized by severe, recurrent pain in the head, face, neck, and shoulder regions. These conditions may be a result of excessive nerve stimulation in the head and neck, leading to pain signals being sent to the brain. Common types of primary headache include migraine, tension-type, cluster, and chronic daily headaches. PHDs are typically managed with a combination of medications and lifestyle modifications such as avoiding certain foods, reducing stress, and exercising regularly. In severe cases, patients may require surgery to correct underlying structural problems which can be a cause of their symptoms.
