Primate Diet

Primates are mammals that include humans, apes, monkeys, and other species. Diet varies among primate species and across habitats, but generally includes a variety of fruits and leaves supplemented with flowers, seeds, nuts, insects, and occasionally small animals. Fruits and leaves provide essential nutrients, minerals, and vitamins to primates, while insects provide an important source of protein. Primate diet is an important research area for understanding the relationship between diet and health in human and non-human primates, as well as the evolutionary development of human diet and behavior. Understanding primate diet is also important for conservation, as changes in diet can affect population survival and reproductive success.
