Invitation to Contribute
The Journal of Clinical and Practical Nursing welcomes manuscript submissions from nurses, nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, nurse educators, nursing administrators, and healthcare researchers across all specialties and practice settings. We seek high-quality, original contributions that advance nursing science, improve patient care outcomes, and address the evolving challenges facing contemporary nursing practice in hospitals, community settings, and educational institutions.
JCPN provides a rigorous yet supportive peer review process designed to strengthen manuscripts while maintaining efficient timelines that respect the demands facing working nurse researchers. Our international editorial board brings diverse expertise spanning acute care, primary care, mental health, pediatrics, geriatrics, and nursing education, ensuring manuscripts receive evaluation from specialists who understand your clinical context and research methodology.
All accepted manuscripts are published open access, making your research freely available to nurses, healthcare providers, and policymakers worldwide without subscription barriers. This open access model maximizes the impact and practical application of published nursing research across diverse healthcare systems and resource settings.
Whether you are conducting clinical trials of nursing interventions, investigating patient safety protocols, developing innovative educational methodologies, or exploring the professional experiences of nurses across different cultural contexts, JCPN provides the scholarly platform to share your discoveries with colleagues who can apply your findings to improve nursing practice in their own institutions and communities.
Manuscript Preparation Guidelines
Manuscripts should be prepared in Microsoft Word format using standard fonts and consistent formatting throughout. Original research articles should follow the IMRaD structure with clearly labeled sections for Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion, while other manuscript types may use flexible structures appropriate to their content. All submissions must include an abstract summarizing the key findings and clinical implications of your work.
References should be formatted consistently using Vancouver or APA style as appropriate to your discipline. Authors are encouraged to cite recent literature from JCPN and other nursing journals to situate their work within the current evidence base. Tables and figures should be professionally prepared with clear legends and submitted at publication-quality resolution. Supplementary materials including data sets, survey instruments, and extended methodology details are welcome.
