About the Journal of Advanced Pharmaceutical Science and Technology

Research on medicines connects molecular understanding with laboratory methods, pharmaceutical technologies and clinical use. JAPST provides a place for those contributions to be examined together: how a substance acts, how it can be measured and delivered, how quality is controlled, and how treatment and pharmacy services affect people.

The journal considers fundamental, applied and translational work. A medicinal-chemistry finding, natural-product study, delivery system, analytical method, safety observation or pharmacy-practice evaluation can each contribute when the question is clearly pharmaceutical and the conclusions are supported.

Methodological detail makes findings interpretable and, where applicable, reproducible. The evidence expected depends on the study: chemical identity and suitable assays in discovery, validation in analysis, authenticated materials in natural-product research, and appropriate design, ethics and reporting in clinical or pharmacy-practice work.

Editorial process and independence

All submissions undergo initial editorial screening. Manuscripts that meet the journal's scope and minimum requirements proceed to independent peer review. Manuscripts that proceed to external peer review are normally evaluated by at least two independent subject-matter experts. Peer review is single-blind by default; double-blind review is available on request.

Editorial decisions are based on scope, scientific quality, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, reporting quality, and relevance to the journal. They rest with the handling editor and are independent of fees, services or any role an author holds with the journal. Nothing an author pays for and no position an author holds influences whether a manuscript is accepted.

Access, licensing and the version of record

Articles are published open access under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license. Authors retain copyright and readers may reuse the work with attribution. Registered articles are deposited with Crossref under the journal's own DOI prefix, so the version of record can be cited and resolved permanently. Reuse terms are stated on the copyright and license page, and the journal's identifiers and discovery services on the indexing page.

Standards the journal applies to pharmaceutical research

Reporting requirements follow the research question and study design. They support the evaluation of pharmaceutical science, technology, medicine safety and practice:

• Human studies require appropriate ethics approval and informed consent; animal studies require appropriate ethics and welfare approval.
• Interventional clinical trials must be registered in an accepted public trial registry at or before the first participant provides consent for enrollment. The registry name, registration number, and registration date must be reported in the manuscript.
• Every empirical research manuscript must include a data-availability statement describing where datasets, code or materials can be accessed.
• Analytical methods are expected to be validated, with their applicability to the quality or regulatory use case stated.
• Methods must be reported in enough detail to support replication and independent validation.
• Competing interests and funding sources must be disclosed, and authorship must reflect substantial contribution to the work.
• Plagiarism, duplicate submission and fabricated data are prohibited, and may result in rejection or retraction.

Where an error is identified after publication, the journal issues a correction or a retraction and links it to the affected article.
